Dr. Mitra Ahrar earned her DDS degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1998, and completed her AEGD residency in 1999. With eight years of experience in general dentistry, she transitioned to specialized endodontic services aimed at saving teeth. Dr. Ahrar stays updated about advancements in dentistry by continuously learning through national study clubs.
In her patient care, thorough examinations are a priority for accurate diagnosis. Understanding patients’ fears and anxieties, Dr. Mitra alleviates concerns, ensuring comfort, and provides information on treatment as well as the limitations to treatment modalities, setting reasonable expectations. By approaching her patients as a whole with compassion and educating them about their dental health and treatment options, she builds trust. Dr. Ahrar believes that educated patients make better choices for their oral health, leading to an overall well-being.
Preserving natural teeth whenever possible and relieving dental pain are the cornerstones of Dr. Mitra Ahrar’s practice. Additionally, she extends her passion for dentistry through volunteering, she has helped underserved communities locally, and internationally in Mexico and Kenya.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Mitra finds solace in nature, particularly through hiking. She also cherishes different travel experiences with family and friends, including memorable trips to New Zealand and Iceland.
