Dr. Aivaz received his dental degree from Tehran University in Iran in 1971.  In 1973, he was invited to teach as an instructor at the Department of Maxillo-Facial surgery at the National University of Iran. He enjoyed his professorship at this university until March of 1979.

In August 1979, he was accepted into a postdoctoral Endodontics program at Harvard University. He completed the program in 1982, and received his Certificate of Endodontics as well as his Masters Degree in Oral Biology. In his final year at Harvard University, he published a book on the development and application of demineralized bone powder to be used as bone graft materials in dental surgeries.
In 1982, Dr. Aivaz began teaching Endodontics at New York University Dental School as a clinical assistant professor. In the meantime, he also practiced as an Endodontist in private practices in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island until 1984. He moved to California and in 1985 he started his Endodontics practice in Long Beach, CA. Since that time, he has been successfully and proudly practicing and serving his patients, who are referred by general dentists from all over the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.

He is a Member of the Harbor Dental Society, a Lifetime member of the California Dental Association, a lifetime member of the American Dental Association, and a lifetime member of American Association of Endodontics.

In his free time, Dr. Aivaz enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He is a proud father to his oldest daughter, a dermatologist practicing locally at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, his son, who is currently a medical student at George Washington University, and his middle daughter who is a graduate of Duke University pursuing a Masters degree in Psychology. Dr. Aivaz is an avid runner, hiker, and biker. He is a great admirer of Salvador Dali’s artwork, many of whose lithographs are on display in the office.
